Abstract

Introduction:
Interprofessional education (IPE) is required in many professional programs. These activities take varied forms but are generally designed by faculty.

Objectives:
We explored students’ interest in and perceived value of different IPE experiences.

Methodology:
Using data collected from a survey dispersed to students, we compared students from different professions and work settings and their perception of IPE related activities.

Results:
Our results revelated important patterns related to student interests and perceptions that help shape development of future IPE experiences. We also found differences across students based on students’ professional background and level, suggesting the need for more careful consideration of students’ prior experiences.

Summary/Conclusion:
Our findings and insights can be used to inform future IPE development.
